Community partnership and leadership are on full display in Stone County as local efforts come together to honor veterans ahead of Memorial Day.
The Stone County Sheriff’s Office has announced its appreciation for FL Davis ACE Hardware in Mountain View, Arkansas, for donating American flags that will be placed on veterans’ graves throughout cemeteries across the county.
The flag placement will be carried out through a supervised inmate work program, giving participants an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while supporting the community.
Officials also extended special thanks to Stone County Veterans Service Officer Jessica Sterlin for her assistance, along with local veterans who volunteered their time to help coordinate the effort.
Sheriff Brandon Long said the project reflects the county’s commitment to honoring those who served and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
The initiative will take place in observance of Memorial Day.
