Police Say A Fake Scam Involves a Hoax About Missing Officers

Scammers are falsely claiming that a female police officer, Katie Cunningham, is missing. The posts allege she was last seen with her daughter and is in extreme danger.

One post, dated March 30, claims a Silver Alert was issued for Officer Cunningham. It describes her as 5’9″, 163 lbs, and in need of immediate medical attention.

Another post, dated April 20, repeats the same false narrative about the officer’s disappearance. Both posts urge the community to share the information to aid in her alleged recovery.

The Conway PD has labeled these posts as scams and advises against sharing them. The department clarified that Officer Cunningham is not missing and the claims are entirely fabricated.

Authorities are urging the public to verify information before sharing to prevent the spread of misinformation. Community awareness is key to stopping these scams from causing unnecessary alarm.
