An arrest has been made after a Dollar General was allegedly broken into in Batesville, Arkansas.
Independence County Sheriff’s Department confirms that Johnathan Bohannan was arrested on January 2nd, 2025 in connection to a break-in that reportedly occurred at a Dollar General store in Batesville, Arkansas.
Suspect Arrested After Break-In At Dollar General In Arkansas
The incident happened in Batesville, Arkansas. The following details were provided in documents from the case.
A reported burglary at the Dollar General on 858 N Central Ave was reported on December 24, 2024, when employee Jennifer Ward discovered a shattered front window. Security footage later identified the suspect as 34-year-old Johnathan Bohannan.
Bohannan was seen on camera breaking into the store at around 3:47 a.m., using a large gray basket to smash the window. Officers noted he was wearing the same clothes from an earlier encounter with law enforcement that morning.
The stolen goods included cigarettes, candy, and other merchandise, with an estimated value around $500. Police also found a partial fingerprint on the cigarette case, adding to the evidence against Bohannan.
Outside the store, graffiti saying “ENTRAPMENT?” and “nox” were discovered, not present the day before. This additional detail is part of the ongoing investigation.
An affidavit of probable cause led to a judge issuing an arrest warrant for Bohannan on charges of commercial burglary and theft, with his case set for trial.
