Another big sign for prosperity in Arkansas.

The University of Arkansas has set a historic record for the number of enrollments this year. Over 33,610 students will be beginning the fall semester. The news comes after a series of good reports for the Arkansas economy.

College Enrollments Make History For U Of A

The University of Arkansas has 4.6% more students this year compared to last year, according to a count taken on the 11th day of classes. This is part of a bigger trend where the number of students has grown by 22% over the past five years.

Suzanne McCray, vice provost for enrollment and dean of admission, cheered the massive growth:

“The growth now is great news for the campus as it points to a healthy future for enrollment even through projected demographic changes in the state and beyond it.”

This just goes to show that the economy and society in general are opening back up since the troubles of 2020.

Arkansas Economy Sees Positive Signs Too

As we reported previously, Arkansas is seeing a wave of good signs for the state economy.

Steve Goode, executive director of the Arkansas Grocers & Retail Merchants Association, reports that Arkansas is seeing more tax money coming in, and cities are starting to hire more people. Governor Sarah Sanders’ announcement about a new energy company that will create 100 jobs in the state is also a good sign.

Overall, it looks like this will be another great year in the state of Arkansas. The future looks bright.
