A wave of controversy has surged through Greenwood, Arkansas, as allegations surface that a police officer may be performing duties while intoxicated.
Allegations that Lieutenant Gossett attends police calls while drinking have been detailed in a post by Sean Buckner Transparency, noting the absence of city policies prohibiting such behavior and highlighting concerns about accountability within the Greenwood Police Department.

The post claims Lt. Gossett goes to calls while drinking and believes he will not be disciplined. It asserts the lieutenant routinely attends scenes while intoxicated.
Assistant Chief Wolford noted there are no policies prohibiting Greenwood officers from drinking while on or off duty. He also stated that showing up drunk to a scene is considered performing police duties.
