Residents of Heber Springs awoke to news that a long‑standing hometown tradition would not take place as planned, while anticipation builds for another celebration slated for the weekend.

Even though the Homecoming parade scheduled for today was cancelled, the Ozark Trail Festival parade set for Saturday, October 3, remains on the calendar, with the city providing a route map and alternate driving directions for attendees.

The City of Heber Springs announced that today’s Homecoming parade has been cancelled. No reason for the cancellation was provided in the notice. The decision was communicated through the city’s official channels.

Officials confirmed that the Ozark Trail Festival parade will go ahead on Saturday, October 3. The event is set to follow the previously planned route. This confirms that at least one community celebration remains on the calendar.
