Community members and local officials voiced strong reactions as Greene County’s law‑enforcement leadership executed a sweeping personnel change.

A federal lawsuit filed by the estate of 18‑year‑old Atiyana Willis alleges that Greene County jail staff ignored repeated medical pleas, and the suit follows the sheriff’s termination of a whopping NINE employees the day before.

Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder terminated nine jail employees the day before the lawsuit was filed. The dismissals were announced via a county release. No specific reasons were provided at the time.

The estate of 18‑year‑old Atiyana Willis filed a federal lawsuit alleging jail staff failed to respond to her repeated requests for medical assistance and did not contact EMS as her health declined. The complaint says these omissions contributed to her death. The filing seeks accountability for the alleged negligence.

Attorney Luther Sutter is representing the estate. The suit names Sheriff Snyder and ten unidentified jail employees as defendants. It cites severe failures in care and supervision.
