New Panther Blue Tanker Delivered
Greenbrier Fire Department took delivery of a brand‑new Pierce Freightliner M2 commercial tanker, featuring a custom metallic Panther Blue paint job and a price tag of more than $600,000. No public ceremony or formal announcement has been made yet.
The tanker represents the first brand‑new apparatus the department has acquired since the 1970s, ending reliance on a used 1995 Pierce Dash that had served as the newest structural engine for decades.
It is the first of four vehicles in a planned fleet overhaul; Truck #2, a Pierce Enforcer Top Mount PUC Pumper, is already in fabrication, and a heavy 3,000‑gallon tanker is slated to follow.
The information was posted by Faulkner County Fire Buff, and the on‑duty crew allowed a close look at the new equipment. Community members are being asked what they think of the shift from traditional red to the Panther Blue finish.
