The 2-day workshop will be held at 2300 Highland Road in Batesville and is open to aspiring performers, experienced actors and anyone with a love for musical theatre.

Participants will receive hands-on instruction in:

Audition techniques
Solo vocal performance
Ensemble singing
Stage performance skills
A final showcase performance for family and friends

The vocal training portion of the workshop will be led by Dr. Bethany Neese, assistant professor of music at Lyon College.

Attendees also will perform music from several beloved Broadway productions, including “Les Misérables,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Sound of Music,” and other classic musicals.

“Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where performers of all ages can build confidence, strengthen their vocal and performance skills, and experience the joy of musical theatre,” said Dr. Maggie Gayle, associate professor of art and theatre at Lyon College. “Whether someone is preparing for auditions or simply loves to sing and perform, this workshop offers something for everyone.”

The workshop is free, but organizers ask participants to reserve a spot in advance.
