, , Leave a comment

Officials with the City of Greenbrier Arkansas issued a boil order Sunday for several areas following a water leak north of the city.

According to city officials, the boil order impacts customers along Highway 285 East as well as residents in the Merritt, Lieblong, and Burkett Flatt areas.

Officials said the order could remain in place until late next week because of the Memorial Day holiday and required clearance testing through the Arkansas Department of Health.

Residents are advised to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, and food preparation. Officials recommend bringing water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute before allowing it to cool prior to use.

Bottled water may also be used until the boil order is lifted.
