Conway Arkansas Hospital Fire Quickly Contained at Conway Regional Medical Center

fire at Conway Regional Health System was quickly contained early Sunday morning, with no injuries reported.

According to officials, the fire occurred at Conway Regional Medical Center and involved a cooling tower located on a lower-level roof near the Emergency Department.

The Conway Fire Department responded to the call at 6:02 a.m., and crews had the fire fully extinguished by 6:20 a.m.

Officials confirmed that no patients, visitors, hospital staff, or emergency personnel were harmed during the incident.

Emergency Response and Evacuations

The hospital’s Emergency Department was safely evacuated as a precaution. Some nearby areas were also briefly cleared, though officials later determined that the additional evacuation was not necessary.

During the response, the Emergency Department was placed on temporary diversion, with services moved to an unaffected area of the hospital.

Operations Return to Normal

After the fire was extinguished, the affected area was evaluated and cleared by the Conway Fire Department. Hospital officials confirmed that full Emergency Department operations have since resumed.

At this time, there has been no official word on the extent of damage caused by the fire.

Authorities say the incident remains under review.
