The Ash Flat Police Department has arrested a 30-year-old man following an investigation into child sexual abuse material initiated by an out-of-state tip.

A Sharp County judge found probable cause to charge Austin Dakota Miller with 17 total counts, including 3 counts of computer exploitation of a child in the first degree, a Class Y felony, 3 counts of possession or use of child sexual abuse material, a Class B felony, and 11 counts of distributing, possessing, or viewing sexually explicit material involving a child, a Class C felony.

Authorities say the case began February 26, 2026, when the Ash Flat Police Department received information from another law enforcement agency regarding alleged communication with a juvenile.

According to court documents, investigators identified Miller as the suspect and later conducted a Mirandized interview, where he admitted to exchanging explicit images and videos with a juvenile.

A search warrant led to a forensic download of electronic devices, where investigators reported finding multiple instances of illegal material, including screenshots involving the juvenile.

Miller was arrested March 25, 2026, and booked into the Sharp County Detention Center. He remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.
