The City of Cabot has received a regional interior design award from the South-Central Section of the American Society of Interior Designers for the Cabot Justice Center, recognizing its innovative renovation and multi-use civic design.

Funded through a 2021 voter-approved municipal bond initiative, the 44,000-square-foot facility represents a major investment in public infrastructure. The project transformed a former abandoned shopping center into a modern civic hub serving law enforcement, emergency response, court proceedings, and public meetings.
Designed by WDD Architects in North Little Rock Arkansas, the facility brings together the Cabot Police Department, city administration, District Court, Lonoke County 911 dispatch, and the Connect2First fiber utility under one roof.
Construction was completed in 2 phases by Baldwin & Shell and Nabholz, with engineering support from Halff, HSA, and Jacques Pierini. Officials say the project remained on budget while delivering a highly efficient and flexible design.

A key feature of the Justice Center is a multi-use meeting room that supports City Council, Planning Commission, District Court, and other public functions, reinforcing a community-focused approach.
WDD Architects will formally present the award during the Cabot City Council meeting on March 23 at 6:30 p.m. at 805 West Main Street.
City leaders say the recognition reflects Cabot’s commitment to quality public facilities and responsible use of taxpayer dollars while creating a space that serves the community every day.
