Lyon College in Batesville will be closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026, due to ongoing inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, college officials announced Monday.
While the campus will be closed to normal operations, essential services will remain open. Campus Security, Facilities, and Dining Services will continue operating to support students who remain on campus. Dining Services will operate on a modified brunch and dinner schedule during the closure.
College officials say the decision was made to prioritize the safety of students, faculty, and staff as winter weather continues to impact travel conditions across North Central Arkansas.
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to continue monitoring the Lyon College website at lyon.edu and their campus email accounts for updates regarding reopening plans and any additional operational changes.
Residents across the region are urged to use caution if travel is necessary, as icy roadways and dangerously cold temperatures remain in effect.
