Arkansas Heritage Hosts Annual Holiday Open Houses at Old State House Museum, Historic Arkansas Museum, and Mosaic Templars Cultural Center on December 7

Arkansas Heritage will celebrate the holiday season with its annual Holiday Open Houses on Sunday, December 7, at the Old State House Museum, Historic Arkansas Museum, and Mosaic Templars Cultural Center. The family-friendly events are free to attend.

At the Historic Arkansas Museum, the 58th annual Frolic will run from 12–4 p.m. Visitors can enjoy historic crafts including Springerle ornaments, Kwanzaa crafts, holiday cards, candle dipping, woodworking, textiles, and cooking demonstrations. Musical performances include Sugar on the Floor, Lark in the Morning, Ricky Russell, Arkansas Country Dance, Aeolus Recorder Group, and S. Juain Young & Artists United. Father Christmas will read “The Night Before Christmas.” Hot cider and gingerbread cookies will be served.

The Mosaic Templars Cultural Center will host its Holiday Open House from 1–5 p.m. Guests can enjoy festive music, hot chocolate, children’s crafts, and photos with Santa. The event will also feature the first Arkansas Made Black Crafted Christmas Market.

At the Old State House Museum, visitors can join the open house from 12–4 p.m. for craft activities, holiday treats, and music. Guests are encouraged to take a festive photo with the Christmas tree in the lobby.

These annual holiday events offer Arkansans and visitors alike a chance to celebrate the season, enjoy family activities, and experience local history and culture.
