Woman Arrested In Searcy, Arkansas After Alleged Misuse of Cell Phone
According to case files, the incident began on February 25, 2025, when Searcy Police received a tip about a stolen 9mm Springfield Armory XDS firearm. Detective Daniel Cruz Dillard traced the gun, which was reportedly stolen from the Searcy Police Department.
Officers located Duke and a male passenger during a patrol near 411 North Sawmill Road. A search of Duke’s vehicle revealed the stolen firearm in plain view on the passenger seat.
Duke, a probationer, admitted to using her cell phone to attempt a methamphetamine purchase. This led to her charge of violating Arkansas Code §5-64-404, a Class C felony.
She was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine (2-10 grams), and offenses related to records and premises. Duke was transported to the White County Detention Center with a bond set at a whopping $150,000.
Court records show Duke’s hearings are scheduled for May 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Evidence, including $6,729 in U.S. currency, will be transferred for law enforcement use, per an April 11, 2025, court order.
The investigation, led by Detective Dillard, was supported by the Searcy Police Department. Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Reed McCoy is overseeing the case in White County Circuit Court.
