Texarkana Schedules Road Work, Residents Advised to Move Vehicles

Residents of Texarkana are bracing for a wave of municipal activity as city officials announce upcoming street improvements.

The city will begin street stabilization and resurfacing on East 48th Street between Jefferson Ave and Sanderson Lane on Sept. 22, asking residents to move parked cars; driveway access will remain, with an expected four‑week completion, while Oats Street work continues.

Street Stabilization and Resurfacing Begins Sept. 22

Street stabilization and resurfacing operations are scheduled to begin on East 48th Street between Jefferson Ave and Sanderson Lane on Tuesday, September 22. The announcement was posted by Texarkana Arkansas on its official channel.

Residents are advised to move any parked vehicles from the roadway to facilitate the work. Driveways will remain accessible throughout the project. Delays and limited access may occur at times.

The work is expected to be completed within approximately four weeks. The city expects to finish the stabilization and resurfacing within that period.

Construction on Oats Street will continue with mainly cleanup following the milling today, in preparation for stabilization and asphalt overlay. No additional disruptions have been detailed for Oats Street.
