A teenager with a learner’s permit accidentally drove his car into a Shannon Hills home, pinning a 15‑year‑old girl against a wall. The girl was airlifted to a hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries, while the driver and his father escaped unharmed. Authorities do not consider the crash a criminal matter and no charges are expected.
Teen Driver Crashes Into Home
According to Shannon Hills Police Chief Allen Spears, a teenager with a learner’s permit was practicing driving with his father when the crash occurred. The teen stopped at a stop sign but accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake. This mistake sent the vehicle forward directly into a home in Shannon Hills.
Inside the residence, a 15‑year‑old girl was watching television when the car struck the wall, pinning her against it. She suffered a broken collarbone and a sprained ankle, injuries described as non‑life‑threatening. She remained conscious throughout the incident.
Emergency crews from Shannon Hills, Little Rock and Alexander, along with Pafford Medical Services, responded to the scene. First responders freed the girl and prepared her for evacuation. She was then airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
The teen driver and his father were unharmed in the crash. Authorities say the incident is not being treated as a criminal matter and no charges are expected. The Arkansas Insider reported prayers for the girl’s speedy recovery.
