The Saline County Sheriff’s Office announced that Deputy Chris Yates and K9 Storm successfully completed Basic K9 Handler School after five weeks of training, marking a milestone for the agency’s K9 program.
Deputy Yates and K9 Storm Graduate K9 Handler School
Over the past five weeks, Deputy Chris Yates and K9 Storm trained together under the Saline County Sheriff’s Office program. The curriculum focused on teamwork, trust, and communication. The pair also learned practical handling skills.
During the course, Deputy Yates received instruction on K9 case law, documentation, certification preparation, and report writing. He also practiced deployment techniques and practical handling. These components are designed to equip handlers for real‑world scenarios.
