A sudden change to traffic flow stirred conversations among Russellville commuters tonight as the city began work that would temporarily alter driving patterns.
The City of Russellville City Hall announced that staff will replace the traffic signal cabinet at the West Main Street and Joplin Avenue intersection, causing a temporary shutdown of the signal and the installation of four‑way stop signs, with drivers advised to use caution and expect delays.
Signal Cabinet Replacement Shuts Down Intersection
City staff began replacing the traffic signal cabinet at the intersection of West Main Street and Joplin Avenue at 7 p.m. this evening.
During the replacement, the signal will be shut down and drivers will encounter four‑way stop signs at the crossing.
Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and expect additional travel time while the work continues.
