A shocking assault unfolded in Centerton late Tuesday, sending ripples of concern through the community.
Centerton Police responded to a report that a man brandishing a knife attacked a female dog walker on Persimmon Street; the woman’s dog intervened, and investigators are now seeking information while deeming the case isolated.
Knife Assault on Dog Walker Investigated
Centerton police officers arrived at the Violet Street area around 9:26 p.m. on September 26 after receiving a report of a male brandishing a knife and assaulting a woman walking her dog. The officers found the victim unharmed but shaken.
She said the suspect was an Indian male, about 5 feet 8 to 10 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark denim jeans, brown work‑style boots, and sporting a black‑and‑gray mustache with stubble.
According to the victim, the man brandished a silver‑colored knife with a roughly six‑inch blade featuring a black line design as she passed. Her medium‑sized dog bit the suspect’s left forearm, allowing her to break free and run to her residence.
The investigation remains active, with Centerton Police following all leads and urging anyone with information to call the non‑emergency line at 479‑271‑1005. Officials believe the event is isolated and pose no immediate public threat.
