Harding University Names Todd McCullough Chief Marketing And Innovation Officer

Harding University has named Todd McCullough its chief marketing and innovation officer, bringing a 1984 graduate and former Subway North America marketing executive back to his alma mater.

The university announced the appointment September 3, 2026. McCullough will lead the Office of University Communications and Marketing and help strengthen innovation efforts across campus.

McCullough previously served as chief marketing officer of Subway North America. His background includes nearly 30 years of consulting leadership experience and advising hundreds of organizations, including more than 100 Fortune 500 companies, according to Harding.

“Todd brings an exceptional combination of marketing leadership, strategic expertise and a proven record of driving innovation,” Harding President Mike Williams said.

Williams said McCullough’s experience across diverse organizations and his understanding of higher education will help Harding strengthen its communications and marketing efforts.

“We are thrilled to welcome him back to Harding,” Williams said.

McCullough’s consulting work has included healthcare, automotive and consumer products organizations. Harding said he also has been hired by 6 of the 8 largest professional services firms to advise on innovation.

Most recently, McCullough served as the 1st chief innovation officer at Lipscomb University. He has taught for more than 10 years at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology.

McCullough earned his undergraduate degree from Harding in 1984 and holds an MBA from Vanderbilt University. In recent years, he has focused on higher education, and he said he is excited to return to Harding.

Harding University is a Christ-centered university in Searcy, Arkansas. According to the university, it is Arkansas’ largest private university and serves students from across the U.S. and more than 60 nations and territories.

The university offers more than 110 undergraduate majors, 14 preprofessional programs and more than 40 graduate and professional programs.
