A series of sudden house fires sparked alarm across Conway County on Friday, drawing a swift mobilization of local emergency teams. Residents were shaken as flames erupted in quick succession, prompting an immediate response from fire crews.
Firefighters from several departments tackled two separate structure fires on Friday—one on Tyler Road near Grandview that resulted in a total loss, and another near Highway 9 and Highway 92 north of Birdtown that was contained before destroying the home. All occupants escaped unharmed and no injuries were reported.
Two Structure Fires Responded to in Conway County
A house on Tyler Road near Grandview was fully involved in a blaze that caused part of the roof to collapse, leaving the structure a total loss. The sole occupant escaped safely before the fire was extinguished. The Conway County Fire Department reported the incident.
A second fire ignited in the kitchen of a home north of Birdtown, near Highway 9 and Highway 92, and quickly spread to the attic. Crews were able to contain the blaze before the house was destroyed. The fire was described as a “kitchen fire” in reports.
Firefighters from multiple stations, along with EMS standby, responded to both incidents, and the sheriff’s office provided traffic control. The coordinated effort helped limit damage and protect the public. The response was organized under the direction of the Conway County Fire Department.
No injuries were reported from either fire. The cause of the Tyler Road fire and the kitchen fire remains under investigation and is not yet known. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
