A driver escaped injury following a vehicle-related incident handled by the Bismarck Fire Protection Association at the beginning of the Labor Day holiday weekend.
Bismarck fire officials expressed relief that the driver was not injured while reminding motorists to remain careful on area roadways.
“Not the way we wanted to start the holiday weekend out,” the department said in its public statement. “Luckily the driver wasn’t injured. Please be careful out there.”
Multiple emergency agencies and organizations assisted Bismarck firefighters during the response.
The Bismarck Fire Protection Association thanked LifeNet, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas State Park personnel, the Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Department and GBF Towing for their assistance.
The department did not release the driver’s identity or provide additional information about the incident’s exact location, time or cause.
Officials also did not specify the type of vehicle involved, whether additional vehicles were involved or the extent of the property damage.
The incident occurred as motorists took to Arkansas highways for the holiday weekend. Firefighters urged drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, wear seat belts and pay close attention to changing traffic conditions.
Motorists approaching an emergency scene should reduce their speed, remain alert and move over when possible to provide space for police officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel and tow-truck operators.
