Christopher George Davis is being held on a $200,000 bond while facing 28 felony counts of possessing child pornography, according to Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens.
Davis was arrested August 21 on an active warrant.
According to the affidavit, investigators obtained search warrants for 3 phones belonging to Davis. Authorities reported finding child sexual abuse material on 2 of those devices.
The affidavit states Davis told investigators he had been viewing such material for approximately 2 years. He also reportedly told investigators his phones contained more than 1,000 pornographic images and that he had received and sent material involving children.
The charges are allegations. Davis is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
