Disturbing charges in White County, Arkansas.
Charles Terrell Maxwell, 23, of Benton was arrested Friday afternoon by Beebe police. He is charged with residential burglary, violation of a protection order and fleeing on foot.
Suspect Reportedly Fled On Foot
The booking occurred at 3:58 p.m. Sept. 4. Maxwell remains in custody with no release date listed.
The felony burglary count traces to a reported Jan. 19 incident at a Goff Drive residence in Beebe. Prosecutors allege Maxwell entered the home of Stephanie Michelle Wallace without a right to be there.
An affidavit says Maxwell had threatened Wallace by text and voice message that day, then forced his way inside. He allegedly slammed her to the ground, pinned her on a couch and placed his hands around her neck.
Two young children were inside the home during the alleged confrontation. Maxwell also faces two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Officers reported Maxwell resisted when they entered and took Wallace’s phone after she said she would call police. Additional charges include third-degree domestic battery, second-degree terroristic threatening, resisting arrest and interference with emergency communication.
A $35,000 bond was noted when the original case was filed in February.
