Students at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville will have more control over how and where they attend classes beginning with the Fall 2026 semester.
UACCB is officially launching its new HyFlex, or Hybrid-Flexible, course-delivery model. The approach combines traditional classroom instruction with live and self-paced online learning.
Students enrolled in a participating HyFlex course can move between 3 learning options:
IN-PERSON
Students can attend live, face-to-face classes on the UACCB campus in Batesville.
SYNCHRONOUS ONLINE
Students can participate remotely in live classroom sessions through an online video stream.
ASYNCHRONOUS ONLINE
Students can view recorded lectures, complete assignments and participate in online discussions on their own schedules.
Students can change their attendance format from session to session or week to week based on their employment schedules, family responsibilities and other needs.
“Our goal is to meet students where they are and make it easier for them to succeed,” said Blayne Stewart, dean of Learning and Communications at UACCB.
Stewart said students can attend inside the classroom, join live from another location or complete assignments asynchronously when that option works best for their schedules.
UAM Partnership Brings Additional Degrees To Batesville
The HyFlex rollout coincides with an expanded academic partnership between UACCB and the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
Beginning in Fall 2026, UAM will operate a campus-within-a-campus model at UACCB. The partnership will allow students to pursue select 4-year bachelor’s degrees in Batesville without relocating to another community.
Stewart said combining flexible HyFlex classes with UAM programs offered at UACCB creates more opportunities for local students to continue their education without putting their jobs, families or other responsibilities on hold.
UACCB is a comprehensive 2-year college providing affordable transfer and career programs across North Central Arkansas.
Students can complete the 1st 2 years of a bachelor’s degree, finish select bachelor’s degrees through university partnerships or earn career credentials in fields including agriculture, industrial maintenance, nursing and welding.
