Jacksonville Elementary School Closed After Mold Found in 3 Areas

, , Leave a comment

Jacksonville Elementary School is closed for the remainder of the week after environmental testing detected elevated mold levels in 3 areas of the building.

The Jacksonville North Pulaski School District closed the school so professional cleaning crews could address the affected areas.

Students who need to attend school during the closure are being relocated to Jacksonville High School.

The district said an environmental consultant determined that high humidity contributed to the mold problem.

As an additional precaution, other school buildings in the Jacksonville North Pulaski School District are being inspected.

The district has not reported finding elevated mold levels at any additional schools.

Jacksonville Elementary School will remain closed for the rest of the week while professional cleaning and inspections continue.

Additional information about the school’s reopening will be announced by the district when it becomes available.
