A 27-year-old Sherwood woman was killed and 2 Little Rock men were injured in an I-430 fatal crash early Friday after a vehicle fled from Little Rock police.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:01 a.m. on Aug. 21, 2026, near mile marker 1 on northbound I-430 in Little Rock.
According to the preliminary Arkansas State Police report, a 2006 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on northbound I-430 while actively fleeing from the Little Rock Police Department.
The Civic lost control, struck a guardrail and overturned. A northbound 2023 Honda Pilot then struck the overturned Civic.
Jamia Trotter, 27, of Sherwood, was a passenger in the Civic and died following the crash.
The Civic’s driver, Samuel Shelton, 26, of Little Rock, and the Honda Pilot’s driver, Rolando Hyche, 53, of Little Rock, were injured. Both were transported to UAMS for treatment.
State police reported that the weather was clear and the roadway was dry when the crash occurred.
Arkansas State Police Trooper Tre M. Davis is investigating the crash.
