An 83-year-old Romance man was killed and a 73-year-old Romance woman was injured following a 2-vehicle crash in White County, according to Arkansas State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:15 a.m. on June 16, 2026, on Midge Langley Road near Joy.
According to the preliminary Arkansas State Police report, a 2024 Nissan Kicks had turned onto Midge Langley Road when it was struck from behind by a 2000 Dodge Dakota. Troopers reported clear weather and dry road conditions at the time of the collision.
Authorities identified the deceased victim as Carroll Edward Wells, 83, of Romance. Wells was a passenger in the Nissan Kicks.
The driver of the Nissan, Ima Gene Wells, 73, of Romance, was injured and transported to Unity Health for treatment.
The crash was investigated by Arkansas State Police Trooper First Class Rand E. Lace and is listed as Fatal Crash No. 196 for 2026
