The Searcy City Council reviewed strong financial numbers and major city improvement projects during its regularly scheduled meeting on June 9, 2026.

City officials reported total fund balances of $23.4 million for May, including $7.2 million in the general fund and more than $6.6 million in reserve accounts. Officials said monthly revenue topped $3 million, putting the city slightly ahead of budget projections for the year.
Council members also received updates on several My Searcy projects currently under construction across the city.
Officials said work continues on the South Main Community Center, aquatic park, soccer complex, baseball fields, Berryhill Park, and the Little Red River Park trail system. City leaders also announced a major youth baseball World Series tournament is scheduled for Searcy in June 2027 following expansion of the baseball complex.
The council also discussed future funding options for a possible new police department facility through franchise fee revenue bonds.
City leaders said several park and recreation projects are nearing completion, including the Yancey and Carmichael park improvements.
