The Russell Volunteer Fire Department is inviting the community to come together for a fun-filled fundraiser on Saturday, May 16, 2026, featuring a Cornhole Tournament, live music, food, bounce houses, and family activities.

The event will take place from 3 PM until 8 PM at the old school building in Russell with proceeds helping support the annual community fireworks show.

Tournament entry is $20 per team, and organizers encourage everyone to grab a partner and enjoy an evening of community fellowship while supporting local firefighters.

The family-friendly fundraiser will include a bounce house for children, concession stand food and drinks, and live music by the New Beginning Community Band. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and spend the evening enjoying the entertainment.

According to the Russell Volunteer Fire Department, the fundraiser is also being held to show appreciation for firefighters who faithfully serve and protect the community throughout the year.

Organizers say more than 200 people are expected to attend the event.

The Russell Volunteer Fire Department is currently seeking donations of food and supplies including chips, bottled water, sodas, hot dogs, hamburger patties, buns, and condiments to help make the event successful.

Anyone interested in donating or helping with the fundraiser can contact Assistant Chief Bobby Toddy at 501-201-0799.
