The National Weather Service in Little Rock has confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down in Stone County during severe storms on April 27, 2026.

According to the official damage survey, the tornado reached peak winds of 110 miles per hour, carving a path approximately 12.5 miles long and up to 400 yards wide. The tornado began about 4 miles south-southwest of Mountain View at 10:31 PM and tracked east-southeast before lifting near the Pleasant Grove community around 10:55 PM.
Survey teams reported damage to barns and outbuildings, along with numerous trees blown down across rural areas. No injuries or fatalities were reported.
A second, weaker tornado was also confirmed in Jackson County near Tuckerman shortly after midnight on April 28. That EF0 tornado produced winds near 80 miles per hour and traveled just over half a mile, mainly impacting open fields with minor damage to power poles.
Officials say the information remains preliminary and could be updated following further review.
