The Arkansas Department of Transportation has announced a temporary closure of the Highway 37 bridge over Guthrie Lake near Tuckerman.

The closure is scheduled to begin at 5 a.m. Monday, April 27, and continue through 5 p.m. Monday, May 25, weather permitting. Crews will be performing necessary repairs to the existing bridge structure.

Highway 37 will remain open to local traffic on both sides of the closure, but through traffic will be detoured. Motorists traveling west will take Highway 37 east to Highway 18, then west to Highway 367, and north back to Highway 37. Eastbound drivers will follow the reverse route using Highway 367 and Highway 18.

Construction barrels, barricades, and signage will be in place to guide drivers safely through the area. Officials encourage motorists to use caution and allow extra travel time.
