Authorities responded Sunday evening after a bomb threat was reported at the Batesville Walmart store.

According to the Batesville Police Department, the threat was called in after 5 p.m., prompting an immediate response and a thorough search of the location by multiple law enforcement agencies.
After an extensive investigation, officials confirmed the threat was not verified as credible.
Police thanked Arkansas State Police and the Independence County Sheriff’s Office for assisting in the response.
Investigators with the Batesville Police Department, along with federal partners, are continuing efforts to identify those responsible for the false threat.
Authorities say the investigation remains active.
