Born on February 17, 1926, Ackerman recently marked 100 years of life, reflecting a journey filled with perseverance, strength, and devotion to family.
According to the proclamation issued on February 5, 2026, Ackerman was born in Inchon, Korea, and is of Japanese descent, with a life story shaped by global history and cultural heritage.
City leaders highlighted that her family heritage is symbolized by the plum blossom, representing endurance, resilience, renewal, and grace—qualities she has demonstrated throughout her life.
Ackerman devoted her life to raising 3 children, instilling values of hard work, responsibility, perseverance, and integrity that continue to influence her family across generations.
