Arkansas Agriculture Week is being celebrated across the state from March 15 through March 21, recognizing the farmers, ranchers, foresters, and producers who help power Arkansas’s largest economic industry.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders officially proclaimed the week as Arkansas Agriculture Week, honoring the industry that contributes more than $25.6 billion annually to the Arkansas economy.

The observance shines a spotlight on the importance of agriculture to communities across the Natural State. From crops and livestock to forestry and poultry production, agriculture continues to be a cornerstone of Arkansas’s economy and rural way of life.

According to the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, the industry provides the food, fiber, fuel, shelter, and forest products that people depend on every day.

Arkansas agriculture supports thousands of jobs statewide and plays a major role in supporting local communities, schools, and businesses across the region.

Throughout the week, organizations, farmers, and agricultural leaders will be sharing information and celebrating the contributions of Arkansas agriculture and the people who make the industry possible.
