A man was arrested who reportedly wore a hoodie decorated like the American flag in Arkansas.
Edward James Staggs, 35, was arrested in Conway, Arkansas, on April 27, 2025 according to Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office. He is accused of an alleged commercial burglary and theft. The incident reportedly occurred at Splash Car Wash on Old Morrilton Highway.
Man Arrested In Conway For Burglary Dressed Like American Flag
According to case files, Conway Police responded to a reported burglary in progress, finding the suspect had fled. Video footage allegedly showed Staggs in a distinctive American flag hoodie.
Officers located Staggs at his Cherry Street apartment after a juvenile’s tip. He was reportedly wearing a gray shirt with keys on his belt, matching the suspect’s description.
Staggs allegedly admitted to entering the car wash to steal from coin machines but found none. He reportedly confessed to taking the building’s keys weeks earlier, though the door was unlocked.
Police reportedly recovered the hoodie, gloves, and keys from Staggs’ vehicle. As a parolee with a search waiver, he was taken into custody without incident.
Staggs faces charges of commercial burglary, a Class C felony, and misdemeanor theft of property. He is currently held at Faulkner County Detention Center with no bond and a parole hold.
The case is under a 60-day review by the Faulkner County Prosecutor’s Office. A judge has issued a warrant for Staggs’ arrest based on probable cause.
