It looks like bad decisions were made in cases involving deceased inmates.
According to Arkansas Democrat Gazette, a report has been given to the Arkansas Department of Corrections after multiple alleged “suicides” have occurred in Arkansas prisons. It looks like adequate precautions and responses were not in line with expected procedures.
Disturbing Report Released After Arkansas Prison Suicides
A new written report which was given to the Arkansas Department of Corrections shows that officials did not adequately document or respond to inmates at risk of suicide. This could likely mean procedures were ignored negligently or intentionally.
It’s not clear if any punishments or action will be taken to officials linked to the multiple suicides in Arkansas prisons this past year.
At least 4 people have been found dead by alleged “suicide” in jail cells so far this year.
