They’re closing it down… for now.

On April 3rd, 2025, the Jacksonville Fire Department announced the closure of the one-lane bridge on West Main Street. The bridge leads to the Northlake neighborhood and will remain closed indefinitely.

The department issued a statement citing safety concerns as the reason for the closure. They did not specify the exact cause of the issue.

Residents of Northlake are advised to find alternate routes to access their neighborhood. This closure may impact daily commutes and local traffic patterns.
