Police officers in Jacksonville, Arkansas were called to help after an eviction notice was ignored by a local 36-year-old woman Rayven Jones. Despite being evicted, she allegedly broke into her old property and was trespassing. That’s when things escalated.
Jacksonville Police Suspect Escapes, Leaving Officer Injured
On August 29, Rayven Jones, a 36-year-old resident of 180 Roosevelt Road, faced charges including second-degree battery, third-degree escape, and criminal trespassing following an incident at her former residence. The arrest occurred after police were summoned to the property for a trespassing complaint at 8 a.m.
The property owner reported to officers that Jones had been legally evicted and provided a 24-hour vacate notice dated August 21, with her official eviction confirmed on August 27 by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. Despite this, Jones returned to the premises, leading to her apprehension.
During transport to the police department, Jones managed to escape by slipping out of her handcuffs and exiting through the window of the patrol car. She attempted to flee but was quickly subdued and re-handcuffed.
In the scuffle following her escape attempt, an officer sustained cuts to his arm and hands. Jones was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.
