Harding University continues its American Studies Institute Distinguished Lecture Series with athlete Jeff Glasbrenner on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Students, community members, faculty and staff are invited to attend the lecture at 7:30 p.m. in Benson Auditorium, located at 201 S. Blakeney in Searcy, Ark. Glasbrenner’s lecture “A Bad Day, Hope and Opportunity” will discuss the intersection of difficulty and faith as well as his background as a three-time paralympian and accomplished Ironman athlete. He is the first American amputee to summit Mt. Everest, an achievement that showcases how he found opportunity even in the face of adversity. Among his resume of illustrious achievements, Glasbrenner is also a two-time world champion and four-time national champion in wheelchair basketball.
