Early Monday morning, a traffic stop in Searcy led to the discovery of firearms and drugs, resulting in an arrest. At approximately 2:30 a.m., Searcy officers pulled over a vehicle on Park Street near Sunnydale. Detecting the smell of marijuana, the officers searched the vehicle. During the search, passenger Robert Rogers, 34, from Mayflower, AR, fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by the officers. The investigation revealed that Rogers was in possession of firearms as a prohibited person and had less than 4 ounces of Schedule VI narcotics. He is also facing charges of Obstruction of Governmental Operations and Disorderly Conduct. Rogers was booked into the White County Jail, and the case remains under investigation. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
