Lake Wilhelmina in western Arkansas is being drawn down for repairs by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC), but anglers can still fish during the process. Despite rumors of the lake being closed, it remains open, offering a great opportunity to catch and store quality fish. The AGFC is repairing the water control structure, and the lake is currently 10 feet low, with levels dropping daily and expected to be fully drained later this summer. Boaters should consider using flat-bottom boats, canoes, or kayaks as boat ramp access becomes challenging. Additionally, there are no daily limits or fish size restrictions, though caution is advised when navigating around old standing timber. Bow fishing and snagging are not allowed.
