Community members were shocked today as news broke of a significant arrest in Trumann, Arkansas.

Cedric Davis of Memphis was charged with felony theft after allegedlyvisiting the Trumann Walmart and Tractor Supply; $9,000 in cash was seized, the stolen Walmart merchandise was returned, and a probable cause hearing is set for October 6, according to the Trumann Police Department.
Felony Theft Charge and $9,000 Cash Seized
Cedric Davis, a resident of Memphis, was observed at the Trumann Walmart and nearby Tractor Supply on the morning of the incident. Police say he allegedly took merchandise from both stores. The investigation was led by Detective Davison of the Trumann Police Department.
Davis has been charged with felony theft of property. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for October 6. The charges stem from the alleged shoplifting incidents.
The items taken from Walmart have been recovered and returned to the store. Authorities are still working to identify the source of additional property taken. No further details on the missing items have been released.
$9,000 in cash was seized from Davis during the arrest. Detective Davison was credited for the seizure. Further outcomes remain pending as the case proceeds.
