A Honduran national illegally residing in Judsonia has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Arkansas, 39-year-old Allan Ricardo Medina-Morales was sentenced to 135 months in federal prison by Chief U.S. District Judge Kristine G. Baker. He was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
Medina-Morales pleaded guilty on April 23, 2024, to conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He was indicted in February 2023 on multiple federal charges, including drug trafficking and firearm-related offenses.
The investigation revealed that in March 2022, Medina-Morales and others conspired to distribute methamphetamine in Arkansas. On March 15, 2022, officers with the Conway Police Department conducted surveillance on a residence tied to the case. Authorities observed Medina-Morales transporting a duffel bag and a kilogram of methamphetamine into the home.
After Medina-Morales and a co-conspirator left the residence, troopers with the Arkansas State Police conducted a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle uncovered a Colt .38 caliber firearm. A subsequent search warrant led to the seizure of approximately 11.7889 kilograms of methamphetamine and drug distribution paraphernalia.
Officials said Medina-Morales had previously been arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2013 for illegal entry and was ordered removed to Honduras in 2019 but failed to appear in immigration court. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a detainer on him for removal after he completes his federal sentence.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration with assistance from Arkansas State Police and the Conway Police Department.
