AgHeritage Farm Credit Services is expanding its commitment to developing future agricultural leaders with the announcement of a new scholarship opportunity — the Ken Sumner Scholarship.

The scholarship honors the late Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Kenneth Lee Sumner, whose leadership and dedication left a lasting impact on the organization. The Ken Sumner Scholarship will be awarded annually to one graduating high school senior.

Eligible applicants must be a child or grandchild of an AgHeritage Farm Credit Services stockholder customer and must plan to enroll full-time in the fall at an accredited university, college, community college, junior college, or technical school.

Sumner was a native of Stuttgart and lived in Lonoke with his wife, Angela, and family. He passed away in 2024 at the age of 55. A graduate of Carlisle High School, Sumner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and completed the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He was also a Certified Public Accountant.

Sumner joined AgHeritage in August 2009, where his leadership, professionalism, and dedication made a lasting contribution to the organization and the communities it serves.

In addition to the new Ken Sumner Scholarship, AgHeritage also offers the Customer Scholarship, University Scholarship, and Ken Shea Scholarship. Applications for all scholarships will be accepted through March 15, 2026.
