Six Leaders to Be Inducted into Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame Class XXXVIII

Six distinguished individuals will be inducted into the Arkansas Agriculture Hall of Fame, recognizing outstanding contributions to soybeans, rice, forestry, cotton, and agricultural leadership, along with influential service in the United States Congress and U.S. Senate.

The Class XXXVIII inductees include:

Jim Carroll III of Moro, who served on local and national boards, including as chair of the United States Soybean Board, helping expand global markets, promote research innovation, and strengthen sustainable production.

Joe Fox of Fayetteville, whose 50-year career in forestry and wood products included uniting private businesses, nonprofits, and state agencies to establish Arkansas’s largest conservation easement.

Allen B. Helms Jr. of Clarkedale, who partnered with his father in 1971 to form Allen Helms & Son, managing farms, warehouses, cotton gins, and multiple agricultural companies.

The Honorable Blanche Lincoln of Washington, D.C., who represented Arkansas in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, advocating for rural communities and agriculture at the national level.

John Paul Pendergrass of Charleston, who sustained and expanded a family cattle operation dating back to 1870, growing Pendergrass Cattle Company into one of the state’s leading stocker and feeder cattle operations.

Benny Petrus of Stuttgart, who built and operated five agricultural businesses, owned two automobile dealerships, and served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2003 to 2008.
