The Humane Society of Independence County (HSIC) Highlights a Year of Rescue Success and Ongoing Need as Over 400 Animals Find New Homes

The Humane Society of Independence County (HSIC) is celebrating a milestone year, announcing that more than 400 homeless, abandoned, and abused animals were rescued, cared for, and placed into loving homes in 2025. Shelter leaders say this lifesaving work is made possible only through community support—from fosters, volunteers, and donors who step in when animals have nowhere else to go.

Despite the success, the need continues to grow. HSIC relies solely on donations, fundraisers, and its thrift store to operate. Daily intakes place constant demand on medical supplies, food, and foster resources.

The shelter says donations make a direct impact:
• $25 covers intake and vaccinations for a new arrival
• $50 provides supplies for a foster family
• $100 funds a spay or neuter surgery
• $500 feeds all cats at the shelter for an entire month

Every contribution helps provide safety, healing, and hope to animals in crisis.

HSIC encourages supporters to make a tax-deductible donation online at www.hsicshelter.org
or by mail at 5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR 72501.
