Arkansas State Police (ASP) investigators are asking the public for assistance in locating a vehicle and identifying the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run that occurred Saturday evening, November 15, 2025, in Pope County.
According to ASP, the vehicle believed to be involved is a Chevrolet HHR, though the color and model year have not yet been determined. Investigators say the vehicle likely has damage to the driver’s side.
The incident happened between 6:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. on State Highway 326 in the Happy Valley community, located north of Russellville near the Gum Log area.
The victim, George Sanborn, 82, of Russellville, was critically injured in the collision. He was airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock, where he died early Sunday morning, November 16.
ASP is urging anyone who witnessed the incident, saw a damaged vehicle matching the description, or has any information that could help identify the driver to contact Arkansas State Police Troop J at (479) 754-3096.
